Matteo Salvini's League party on Thursday expressed bitterness
at the re-election of European Commission President Ursula von
der Leyen for second term.
"Ursula von der Leyen's re-election is bad news for the European
citizens and for Italian people in particular, above all because
of the dangerous support of the Left and the eco-fanatics," the
League said in a statement.
"The votes of millions of electors who called for change (in
June's EU elections) have been betrayed and they will now suffer
the wicked decisions of the
Green extremists".
