The statue of Christ the Redeemer in
Rio de Janeiro was illuminated with the Italian tricolor flag on
Friday to mark the visit to the city of Italy's President Sergio
Mattarella.
Rio de Janeiro is the fourth leg of the Italian head of state's
trip to Brazil.
After Brasilia, Porto Alegre and Sao Paulo, Mattarella will
visit the statue of Christ the Redeemer before departing for
Salvador.
He will be heading back to Rome on Saturday.
