Police, Carabinieri and local
officials have identified 500 youths in the north-eastern city
of Trieste as part of a major operation in the city centre and
local beaches to crack down on fight clubs and bullying
incidents, local newspaper Il Piccolo reported on Wednesday.
Groups of teens, including girls, many of whom are from Trieste,
organize fight matches in exchange for money, investigative
sources said.
Fans pay to watch the fighting and cheer for their team, the
newspaper reported.
The fighting has been documented by videos posted on multiple
social media platforms, the report said.
