President Stefano Mei said Saturday Gianmarco Tamberi, in
hospital on a drip after a new renal colic, wanted to compete to
defend his Olympic high jump title Saturday night but was
"evaluating" the situation.
"Tamberi is doing evaluations, let's see how the situation
develops. He wants to compete, we have to see if there is
nothing problematic. It is clear that he must not take any
risks," said Mei.
"I haven't spoken to him, he is having an examination, I don't
know in what context".
