The Italian music industry grew 15.1%
in the first semester of 2024 with revenues worth over 200
million euros, according to data provided by the Deloitte
consulting service provider for Italian music industry
federation FIMI published on Tuesday.
The result was significantly affected by the impact of streaming
premium with revenues growing by 23%, leading the entire
streaming segment to cover 81% of the market thanks to an
overall growth of 18.1%.
In the first half of 2024, according to data provided by German
research institute Growth from Knowledge (GfK), the streaming
market's volume rose by 31.7% with over 46 billion totalized
streams.
In addition, video streaming revenues went up 23.5%.
The physical albums' market also grew 5.7% with a 15% share of
the sector - a result impacted by the growth of vinyl records
which went up 16% while the CD segment went down 10.6%.
