A 17-year-old male has been arrested
for the murder of Maria Campai, the 42-year-old woman who was
found dead in the garden of a villa in Viadana, near Mantua,
investigative sources said late Thursday.
The teen allegedly met the victim online and convinced her to
meet him at his home in the town of Viadana, the sources said.
After a sexual encounter, the teen is alleged to have killed
Campai for reasons yet to be determined, according to
investigators.
The victim, a Romanian citizen, had been reported missing by her
sister last Friday.
Her body was discovered Thursday in the garden of the villa in
the town near Mantua where she had gone for a job interview,
according to a friend.
The friend said he had taken her to a location close to the
villa where her body was found for the presumed interview with
the agreement that she would let him know when she was done so
that he would take her back to Parma.
However, the victim never called him back, prompting her sister
to report her missing, the sources said.
