Pope Francis on Monday announced he
has included among the names of new cardinals to be created at a
Consistory on December 7 Mons Domenico Battaglia, the archbishop
of Naples.
The new cardinals hail from all over the world and will include
Roberto Repole, archbishop of Turin and Baldassarre Reina, "from
today vicar general of the diocese of Rome", Francis said on
October 8.
The Consistory will fall before the opening of the 2025 Jubilee
of Hope and after the conclusion of the Second Session of the
Synod on Synodality at the Vatican.
