The 2025 edition of the iconic
Pirelli calendar is celebrating its 61th birthday with a return
to nudity - photographed through a contemporary lens.
Shot in Miami's Historic Virginia Key Beach Park by young
American photographer Ethan James Green, with stylist Tonne
Goodman, a former fashion editor at US Vogue, the Pirelli
calendar was presented at London's Natural History Museum on
Tuesday.
The 24 photos of Refresh and Reveal portray 12 talents of
different ages, including Indian-American author and TV
presented Padma Lakshimi, 54, French film star Vincent Cassel,
57, trans US actor Hunter Schafer, 25, Italian singer Elodie,
34, and the 34-year-old photographer himself, whose nude photo
represents the month of November.
The epitome of classic sexiness, which first appeared in 1964,
the calendar features an Elodie who has "an immediate freshness
in exuding all that life we wanted our talents to express
without clothes", Ethan James Green said of the calendar's
models during the presentation in London, describing to ANSA the
2025 edition as "untraditional".
"When I accepted to make it, I thought that Pirelli had a
history I could interpret, because this calendar is a symbol of
sensuality, and at the same time change it" through images that
are "natural, raw, savage".
The executive vice president of Pirelli, Marco Tronchetti
Provera, said the 2025 edition is "nude and sensual" and does
"not want to send messages".
"Behind it, there is the absolute freedom of the artist so I
wouldn't be able to tell whether the sensuality of this new
calendar is going backward or moving forward", Tronchetti
Provera told ANSA.
"Beauty has no gender nor age.
"It remains an artistic object and must be considered as such".
