A 32-year-old Italian female train
conductor was attacked by a mother and daughter without tickets
on a Milan-Ventimiglia Intercity train on Wednesday in the
latest in a string of attacks on rail staff in Italy.
The conductor was busy checking tickets, when she asked the two
women to see them to validate them, and the pair pushed her to
the floor.
An ambulance from the Croce Bianca of Borgio Verezzi (Savona)
intervened immediately: the victim of the attack was taken to
the emergency room of the Santa Corona hospital in Pietra Ligure
in a state of shock.
Railway police officers were also on site for the investigation.
The train was cancelled and travellers were forced to use
regional trains to continue their journey.
