Italy's Adriatic regions will have a
White Christmas while other parts of the south may also enjoy a
touch of the white stuff over the holiday week, weatherman
Antonio Sanò said Monday.
Snow will fall heavily at low altitude in Marche, Abruzzo and
Molise while what Italians call "La Dama Bianca" (White Lady)
may also reach the plains of Basilicata, Campania and Calabria,
he said.
Temperatures will drop sharply over Christmas week in all parts,
said Sanò.
Meanwhile gales hit much of Italy Monday with trees felled and
disruption to road and rail services in Marche, Abruzzo and
Campania.
Bay of Naples islands were cut off due to heavy seas.
