Femicides in Italy are 8% down in
2024 compared to 2023, the chair of the parliamentary commission
of inquiry into femicide and gender violence said Tuesday.
Some 59 women were killed, mainly by their partners or exes,
this year, down from 64 last year, said Coraggio Italia-Noi
Moderati MP Martina Semenzato.
"But that doesn't mean we can let our guard down against this
phenomenon, whose general trend is still rising," she said.
"We must continue to work," said Semenzato.
