Jasmine Paolini on Tuesday dominated
6-0 6-2 in the match against France's Chloe Paquet, leading
Italy into the quarter finals of the mixed-team United Cup.
The Tuscan player's victory capped a successful year during
which she won her second career title in Dubi and triumphed with
Sara Errani to clinch Italy's first ever Olympic tennis gold
medal in Paris, among others.
Flavio Cobolli previously clocked a 1-0 win over France, beating
Ugo Humbert 3-6 7-6(10/8) 6-2.
It was the second consecutive victory of the season for Cobolli,
who has climbed the rankings to his current position as world
number 32.
Meanwhile, Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori won the mixed-team
match against Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Elixane Lechemia 6-3
7-6(7/3).
