Relegation-threatened Venezia battled
out a 1-1 draw with Empoli in Venice on Saturday.
Finland forward Joel Pohjanpalo gave the hosts an early lead
after being gifted the ball in front of goal thanks to a blunder
by Empoli keeper Devis Vasquez.
Sebastiano Esposito equalized for the visitors in the 32nd
minute with his seventh goal of the season in Serie A.
Venice are second-from-bottom with 14 points from 19 games,
while Empoli are 12th with 20 points, ahead of the rest of the
weekend's fixtures.
