The 14-year-old son of Italian chef
Andrea Minguzzi and Turkish cellist Akincilar is "brain dead"
after being stabbed in a street market in Istanbul on January
24, a person close to the family who is informed about the
situation told ANSA on Saturday.
Turkish media had reported that the boy was dead outright.
Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi was stabbed five times in an attack in the
Kadikoy district on the Asian side of the city on the Bosporus
by another teen in an assault that was captured on video.
The boy was then kicked by a 16-year-old as he fell to the
ground.
The two assailants were arrested.
