Oil man and ex Inter Milan president
Massimo Moratti, the family that owns the Menarini pharma group
and the Beretta firearms dynasty have filed complaints to Milan
prosecutors saying they have been victims of a scam involving
the payment of bogus ransoms for journalists working in the
Middle East in which the IA-generated fake voice of Defence
Minister Guido Crosetto was allegedly used to endorse the cash
requests.
Billionaire petroleum businessman Moratti, 79, was the only one
of the thee targets who actually paid up, reportedly handing
over some one million euros, judicial sources said.
Fashion great Giorgio Armani and Prada CEO Patrizio Bertelli
were among the other wealthy people contacted by the scammers,
sources said Friday.
