Italy won't participate in any
possible military force to police a future ceasefire in Ukraine,
Premier Giorgia Meloni's office at Palazzo Chigi said after a
government summit there ahead of Thursday's coalition of the
willing meeting in Paris.
The meeting "allowed us to reiterate that no national
participation is foreseen in any possible military force on the
ground", said the note from Palazzo Chigi after the meeting
convened by Meloni in view of her participation in the Summit on
Peace and Security of Ukraine scheduled for Thursday afternoon
in Paris.
The meeting - it is explained - was attended by the Deputy Prime
Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International
Cooperation, Antonio Tajani (via video link), the Deputy Prime
Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo
Salvini, and the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto.
