(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 15 - Italian doctors are to strike on
March 1-2 against what they called an "unbearable workload" amid
the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trade unions SMI and SIMET called all their members out on
strike.
They will also stage a demonstration outside the health ministry
on the morning of March 2.
"The category's malaise is palpable," they said, adding that "we
are suffering from unsustainable workloads, lack of safeguards,
an aberrant bureaucracy, and last but not least, a failure to
compensate the families of colleagues who died of COVID".
They said "this is a slap in the face from the State, above all
for the orphans of those doctors". (ANSA).
