Italian retail sales grew by 0.4% in
value terms and by 0.3% in volume in October with respect to the
previous month, Istat said on Thursday.
In volume terms, October was the first month of growth since
May.
Year-on-year, retail sales rose by 0.3% in value and fell by 4%
in volume with respect to October 2022, due to rising inflation
which has meant that consumers
are spending more to get less.
Month-on-month, sales of food goods rose by 0.6% in both value
and volume and sales of non-food goods rose by 0.2% in value and
and 0.1% in volume.
