Stellantis said Wednesday its historic
Mirafiori plant in Turin was still the "beating heart" of the
multinational group.
"Turin, with Mirafiori and all of Piedmont, kis, and will be in
the future, the city and region from which everything starts,
the beating heart of decisions that are not limited to our
country but which involve all of Stellantis' global activity,"
said Davide Mele, deputy chief operating officer for Enlarged
Europe, at a meeting at the industry ministry on the carmaker's
commitment to Mirafiori.
Unions fear divestments and job losses but Carlo Tavares, CEO of
the Franco-Italo-US manufacturer, has pledged renewed commitment
to its Italian plants.
