Italy's annual inflation rate dropped
to 0.9% this month, down from 1.2% in March, according to a
preliminary data released by Istat on Tuesday.
The national statistics agency said its consumer price index was
up by 0.2% in month-on-month terms.
"The decrease of the growth of the all-item index on an annual
basis was mainly due to the prices of non-regulated energy
products (going from -10.3% to -13.9%), services related to
transport (from +4.5% to +2.9%) and, to a lesser extent, of
miscellaneous services (from +2.3% to +1.8%), non-durable goods
(from +2.0% to +1.5%) and unprocessed foods (from +2.6% to
+2.2%)," Istat said.
