Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti
said Monday he thought "we will get married" in referring to the
ITA-Lufthansa merger, which has secured its first informal
technical nod, with conditions, from the European Commission.
"I believe that in these days there has still been a lot of
work, hard work," he said.
"Let's say the date is set, the bride and groom and witnesses
are summoned.
"Anything can happen.
"Right now I think we are going to get married, but anything can
happen".
"The long awaited wedding. Bride and witnesses are summoned, but
the Don Abbondio of the situation might not turn up", he said
referring to the famously cowardly priest in Alessandro Manzon's
novel The Betrothed.
