The average rate on new mortgages
fell to 3.56% in June, down from 3.61% in May 2024 to stay on a
downward trend after reaching 4.42% in December 2023, Italian
banking association ABI said on Saturday in its monthly report.
ABI said the market was stabilizing after rates started to come
down at the end of last year in anticipation of June's cut by
the European central bank.
It said new loans to businesses dropped 5.25% in June from 5.38%
in May and 5.45% in December 2023.
