Stellantis plans to close its plant
in Luton, north of London, to concentrate all production of
electric light commercial vehicles in the Ellesmere Port site in
Cheshire with an investment of £50 million, company sources said
Tuesday.
A consultation has been launched with workers and unions.
The aim, the Italo-Franco-American carmaker explained, is to
create a new hub to strengthen the activity of fully electric
commercial vehicles in the United Kingdom.
The workers involved, according to what has been learned, are
1,100.
