Stellantis has a moral duty to operate
in Italy, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said after the
resignation of CEO Carlos Tavares and amid fears over job cuts
amid slumping sales.
"I believe that after all the support this company has had from
the State, it has a moral duty to continue operating in our
country, also taking into account the changes that are taking
place", said Tajani, who is also deputy premier, on the
sidelines of the Alis General Assembly.
"Europe will also have to do its part, some rules need to be
changed, I am thinking of the block on the production of
non-electric cars starting in 2035, so there is a path to take",
added Tajani.
