Just a few days after the official
ceremony for the inauguration of the Italian Pavilion worksite,
Commissioner General for Italy at Expo Osaka 2025 Mario Vattani
met the Minister for the Universal Exposition Hanako Jimi in
Tokyo on Friday.
Italy is the first participant nation to have opened its
worksite and is set to be the only one to start work before the
end of 2023.
Minister Jimi expressed her satisfaction on the start of work on
the Italy Pavilion, stressing the positive value of this news,
which has taken on special significance in the light of the
difficulties linked to supply chain disruption and rising cost
of construction material.
During the meeting the Commissioner General showed a model of
the Italy Pavilion designed by Italian architect Mario
Cucinella, and illustrated the key themes that inspired the
concept of the Italian pavilion - putting the person back at the
centre of technological development.
Minister Jimi praised the attention that Italy's project devotes
to the very young within the exhibition itinerary. The
exhibition will be divided in three main areas dedicated to
universe, society and the individual. These areas allow us to
address models of excellence that Italy develops: digital
education, diet/food education and examples of technological
development of our production sectors.
Part of the Italy Pavilion's permanent exhibition will be
dedicated to an immersive show on the development of Italian
aerospace technology, one of the flagship sectors in which
scientific and economic cooperation between Italy and Japan is
growing.
Both concluded that Expo2025 will be an important opportunity to
strengthen the strategic partnership launched in January 2023 by
Premier Giorgia Meloni and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida.
