The number of new COVID cases in Italy
has dropped 6.9% in the last seven days but there have been over
1,000 deaths from the virus, health foundation GIMBE said
Thursday.
In the week between March 30 and April 5, it said, the number of
new cases was 469,479, down 6.9% on the 504,487 of the previous
week.
Coronavirus-related deaths rose from 953 to 1,049, an increase
of 10.1%, GIMBE said.
The number of tests carried out fell from 3.32 million to 3.16
million.
The average positivity rate remained around 13%.
