A 44-year-old artisan was arrested
Tuesday in connection with the murder of a 35-year-old Albanian
woman at the weekend and a young man, reportedly a transsexual,
Monday night at Sarzana in Liguria.
The murders are believed to have been linked to a prostitution
ring.
The woman, Nevila Pjetri, was found dead in the dried-up bed of
a river on Sunday morning, reportedly shot and stabbed in the
ear with a screwdriver.
The man who was arrested is the owner of a car that was found a
few hundred metres from the young man's body.
Inside the grey Ford Fiesta, which did not have a license plate,
police found at least two pistol shell casings and traces of
blood on a carpet.
Police traced the car to its owner by the chassis number.
