Some 2 out of 3 people in Italy have been unvaccinated since the fourth dose of the COVOD vaccine was first given, and in general, uptake is down by 29.1%, independent health foundation GIMBE said in its weekly monitoring report Monday.
For the fifth dose, coverage is at 14.5%, while the number of
unvaccinated people over the age of 5 with not even one dose as
of 10 February is 6.77 million.
There are 6.4 million people who are currently vaccinated, or
11.1% of the population (ranging from 7.3% in the Autonomous
Province of Trento to 14.6% in the Autonomous Province of
Bolzano).
Italy's jab uptake has been flagging over the fourth and fifth
vaccinations.
GIMBE added that COVID-19 cases had fallen by 10% in the last
week but that cases were being underestimated.
