Civil Protection Minister Nello
Musumeci said Wednesday that 50,000 people are without
electricity in Emilia Romagna after the northeastern region was
hit by deadly floods.
He said power company Enel had 270 teams at work to restore
energy supplies, while stressing that nothing can be done in
cases in which the electrical enclosures still have water in
them.
He added that there is no service for 100,000 mobile telephone
users and 10,000 fixed-line clients.
Regional rail traffic is suspended Emilia Romagna, while traffic
on national and high-speed trains continues to operate, he said.
