An Algerian man wanted for allegedly
being part of the ISIS terrorist group was arrested on Thursday
on the Milan metro, sources said.
He was detained after reacting violently to a routine check by
police officers.
He started shouting 'Allah Akbar' and tried to grab a knife with
a 12-centimetre blade from his backpack before being restrained,
the sources said.
The Digos unit of the State police subsequently discovered that
an international arrest warrant had been issued for the man, who
was wanted in Algeria for allegedly being part of an Islamic
State militia active on the Syrian-Iraqi front.
