DIGOS special security and political
police branch will send a report to prosecutors on the Fascist
salutes made by hundreds of far right militants at a ceremony
Sunday marking the 46th anniversary of the deaths of three
far-right youth militants allegedly due to far left militants at
a street in Rome called Acca Larentia after a Roman goddess
where the headquarters of the then neoFascist Italian Social
Movement (MSI) was located, police sources said Monday.
Two of the youths, aged 13 and 17, were shot dead allegedly by
the leftist militants who were never apprehended while the
third, aged 19, was killed by a stray bullet in ensuing riots
with police.
The DIGOS said it will send a report to the Public Prosecutor's
Office in Rome concerning the commemoration of the events of Via
Acca Larentia in front of the former MSI headquarters.
The file will reconstruct what happened during the event where
the salutes were made.
The event was attended by hundreds of people, but no by Premier
Giorgia Meloni's Bothers of Italy (FdI) party, an heir to the
MSI, which had organised two alternative events, according to
FdI.
The report will be made available to the magistrates who will
have to assess the formal opening of an investigation file.
