Rome airport company ADR on Tuesday
apologised to a Russian woman after a duty-free bar refused to
sell her a bottle of water for her return flight to Moscow
Monday because she had a Russian passport.
ADR and the company that runs the duty-free, Aelia, sent their
apologies to the young woman saying they were "very sorry and
mortified" over the episode at Fiumicino and would be
considering disciplinary action against the sales staff
involved.
The woman said "I would only like to have an apology from that
lady (who refused to sell the water), not from ADR or the shop,
and neither from the Italians who are not at all to blame".
The Russian woman teaches Russian in Italy.
