A fresh, second video of a Modena
police officer apparently slapping a man after arresting him has
resulted in the officer being subjected to a strict liability
review, police sources said after the video, which dates to a
year ago, was published on Monday after the first one on March
13.
"A rigorous examination of disciplinary responsibilities was
immediately started against the officer", said the General
Command of the Carabinieri after the publication of the new
video in which a man stopped by a patrol is apparently slapped
by the same Carabiniere from Modena who had already been filmed
in a similar circumstance.
The general command has "only now" become aware of the incident
and the video dates back to a year ago.
"Also in this case - continues the Carabinieri - as soon as the
video became known, it was promptly transmitted to the judicial
authority".
