A shop at Mestre near Venice has
started putting the prices of its strollers and prams in Bengali
due to the high number of Bangladeshi children being born there.
The historic children's shop Cecchetto, in the historic centre
of the town a stone's throw from Venice, is now listing its
products not just in Italian but in Bengali too.
The owner, Andrea Cecchetto, told the Gazzettino newspaper:
"It's an obvious development, you just have to look around to
see how many Bangladeshi mothers there are walking around.
"The world has changed and the cities have changes too, Mestre
is no exception.
"We have to move with the times".
Town officials have said there are more Bangladeshi kids being
born there than Italians.
