A 56-year-old man hanged himself in
his cell at Ferrara's Agostino Satta Prison on Tuesday morning.
He is the fourth prison suicide in Emilia Romagna and the 39th
in Italy this year.
Prison and inmates bodies have been urging the government to
improve conditions and ease chronic overcrowding in Italian
jail.
