The government is planning to quickly
approve a draft structural budget plan, the document required
under new rules of the EU Pact to be sent to Brussels by
September 20.
Well-informed sources said on Tuesday that the cabinet is
working to discuss it at a council of ministers by the first
week of September to allow Parliament to examine it in the
subsequent two weeks, in time for the deadline.
The document will contain the framework of the program and will
replace the NADEF economic and financial plan.
The path for the structural adjustment that Brussels has
outlined for Rome should be around 0-5-0.6% a year, worth some
10-12 billion euros, a correction already considered in the
government's economic blueprint DEF on.
