The interior ministry is considering
a ban on demonstrations organized close to October 7, a year
after Hamas's deadly attack on Israel, although a decision has
not been taken yet, government sources said on Thursday.
The issue was discussed during a meeting at Rome's prefecture.
The organization 'Young Palestinians' has announced on social
media a national demonstration scheduled to take place in Rome
on October 5 under the slogan 'let's stop the genocide, long
live the Palestinian resistance'.
Over the past few months, similar demonstrations have been
organized without incidents but authorities fear that this event
could pose a concrete risk for public order and could be an
"attempt to hail the massacre", prompting the difficult
evaluation of a ban, the sources said.
