recent German decision reintroducing border controls with
neighbouring countries and further initiatives introduced by
Germany to counter irregular arrivals", the note said.
"It was agreed to maintain a close dialogue on the theme also in
view of the upcoming European Councils, with the objective of
consolidating the connection between the internal and external
dimension of the EU's migration policy, strengthening in
particular the policies in terms of partnerships with countries
of origin and transit of migrants, returns, the fight against
human traffickers and legal migration", according to the note.

where he is scheduled to meet with President Frank-Walter
