A woman shot and wounded by her husband before he shot himself dead near Foggia in southern Puglia Friday died of her injuries in hospital, local sources said.
Celeste Palmieri, a 56-year-old woman wounded Friday morning with gunshots by her 59-year-old husband Mario Furio (and not Furo as initially understood) a retired prison police officer, has died in the Riuniti hospital in Foggia.
Palmieri was ambushed by her husband outside a supermarket in San Severo.
Furio had been reported several times to the police by Palmieri and had been fitted with a restraining order enforcing ankle tag.
The woman recently turned down a social services offer to move her and her children to a safe house.
