Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti
on Saturday said the judgement of rating agencies was the result
of the government's responsible action after Fitch lifted its
outlook to positive and S&P Global confirmed its rating on Italy
at 'BBB' and left the outlook at 'stable' on Friday.
"The judgments of rating agencies are the result of the
government's responsible action which translates into
credibility for Italy", said the economy minister.
Global credit ratings agency Fitch revised its outlook on Italy
to 'positive' from 'stable', mentioning recent improvements in
fiscal performance and commitment to EU fiscal rules.
The agency also affirmed its rating for Italy at 'BBB'.
On Friday, S&P global ratings also affirmed its 'BBB/A-2' long-
and short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit
ratings on Italy, saying the outlook was stable.
