Milan prosecutors said Monday they
will open a probe Tuesday into allegations that six young
Belgian women were sexually assaulted by second-generation North
African men in the northern city's Piazza Duomo amid New Year's
Eve celebrations.
The alleged assaults and molestation were allegedly carried out
by Islamic men, some of whom also allegedly waved their national
flags and disparaged Italy, according to the Italian media.
A young woman from Liege reportedly said "they assaulted us,
they touched us under our dresses".
The probe is so far against person or persons unknown, the
prosecutors said.
