The 46th Giffoni Film Festival
(GFF) will open on Friday and run through July 24 at Giffoni
Valle Piana (Salerno).
On Thursday, July 14, the 4,150 jury members will be able to
see a marathon screening of films starring Oscar-winning actor
Leonardo DiCaprio.
This edition, under the theme 'Destination', will
officially begin on Friday at 11 am. For the first time in 46
years, the opening ceremony will take place at the Cittadella
del Cinema outside the city walls, where the over 4,000 jury
members will take part alongside director Claudio Gubitosi.
The festival will later continue all the way to the
Multimedia Valley, which will in the future host the event.
Guests will include Sabina Guzzanti and Evanna Lynch.
On July 21, Guzzanti will speak about her career in the
theater and television.
Fans of Harry Potter will on July 18 have the chance to meet
Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch), who at GFF will be accompanying
the film "My Name is Emily" (2015), by director Simon
Fitzmaurice.
The feature film is in competition in the Generator +16
section.
