Some 130 art works from some 60
museums around the world have been gathered at the Palazzo
Strozzi and the Bargello in Florence until July 31 for the
sweeping two-site show on 'Donatello, the Renaissance',
comparing the great sculptor's masterpieces with others by
Brunelleschi, Masaccio, Michelangelo and Raphael.
The exhibition kicks off with his dialogue with Brunelleschi,
comparing the two great crucifixes in the Basilica di Santa
Croce and Santa Maria Novella, and ends with a section devoted
to his influence on later artists including Raphael,
Michelangelo and Bronzino.
