Italian rapper Fedez on Thursday
confirmed that the operation he had at the San Raffaele Hospital
in Milan on Tuesday was to remove a tumour.
The 32-year-old, one of Italy's most popular musicians,
announced last week that he was seriously ill, but did not say
what the pathology was.
"Last week I discovered that I had a rare neuroendocrine tumour
of the pancreas," Fedez said in an Instagram post with a photo
of him in a hospital gown making the victory sign with his
fingers.
"One of those that, if you don't get it in time, it is not a
nice flat-mate to have inside your body.
"(That is the) reason why I had to have a surgical operation
that lasted six hours to take away part of the pancreas (tumour
included).
"I'm well, two days after the operation, and I can't wait to
return home to my children.
"It'll take a while".
Fedez's wife, influencer, businesswoman, fashion designer, and
model Chiara Ferragni, also updated her followers about the
situation via Instagram.
"This pic was taken on Monday afternoon at the hospital, the day
before his pancreas delicate surgery," she said in English in a
post with a photo of the couple together in a hospital bed..
"We were scared for everything: his diagnosis, his surgery, his
recovery, our life and the future of our family.
"The surgery on Tuesday went well, and he's now recovering and
hopefully this will only be a bad memory that taught us, once
again, the importance of enjoying life to the fullest, everyday
"Thanks to all the people who made us feel their love, reached
out and said a prayer for us, it gave us a lot of strength".
