ANSA has signed a new partnership deal with Filipino news agency PNA as it expands its international collaboration network after similar deals with Dutch agency ANP, India's PTI, Argentina's TELAM and Uruguay's Uypress.
Like the others, the accord with the Philippines agency
envisages an exchange of content and forging an
enriched offering of international news for clients as well as
developing joint commercial offers to boost the communication of
institutions and businesses in their respective countries.
Italy's Ambassador to Manila Mauro Clemente said "I hail the
signing of the accord between ANSA and the Filipino agency PNA,
and I am certain that it will help further strengthen, in such
an important sector as that of the media, the ties between the
two countries coinciding this year with the 75th anniversary of
the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.
"I express my congratulations to ANSA and warm wishes for a
fruitful collaboration with PNA for many years to come."
PNA Director Robert Burgos said "this accord boosts PNA's
relations abroad and brings the Philippines closer to another
part of the world where many Filipinos work. This is an
important development as far as PNA's relations with foreign
news agencies are concerned."
PNA's Executive Director Demetrio Pisco underscored that the
agcny "has 80 offices all over the Philippines and supplies news
to national newspapers and radio stations as well as
Filipino-language in the USA, in New York and Los Angeles", and
voiced the wish that "the signing of this accord will also boost
the flow of news about the Philippines abroad, and that this may
attract Italian firms to turn to Manila for business
opportunities."
ANSA Managing Director Stefano De Alessandri also expressed
satisfaction with the accord stressing the importance of
"exchanging news wires with PNA and the possibility of having a
broader vision of what is happening in the two countries.
"The second step of the accord," De Alessandri went on,
"concerns the possibility of developing commercial relations
with the Philippines: that means that Italian clients, public
and private businesses, which are interested in being more
present in the Philippines, and vice versa, will be part of this
accord".
