Neapolitan director Edoardo De
Angelis was named Filmmaker of the Year by the Capri. Hollywood
film festival on Saturday.
The Naples helmer, 45, is enjoying the success of his WWII
submarine rescue flick Comandante and his adaptation of Elena
Ferrante's The Lying Lives of Adults is a hit on Netflix.
De Angelis's TV film Non Ti Pago, taken from an Eduardo De
Filippo play and starring Sergio Castellitto, will debut on Rai1
on January 2.
"2023 has been a year lived with profound intensity, accompanied
by the words of these great authors," he said in accepting the
prize.
