Damiano David, lead singer of Italian rock band and Eurovision winner Maneskin, has released his first solo track - a powerful and intimate song called Silverlines.
The song was produced in collaboration with US artists Sarah Hudson and Ferras as well as British rapper and producer Labrinth, Timothy Lee McKenzie.
The track suggests that Damiano David has entered a more mature artistic phase of his life - a phase the 25-year-old has stressed will not see the band split.
"I feel sorrow no more, the calm after the storm and peace belongs to me", he sings in the intimate and poetic track.
"Look at those light rays, no dark days anymore" says the song, whose video evokes a dreamlike world and was directed by the duo Nono + Rodrigo. The 25-year-old Roman, who was busking with his bandmates on the streets of the Italian capital a year before becoming famous, used The X-Factor as a springboard to global chart-topping success after winning the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with 'Zitti e Buoni'.
