It is "Renzo Rosso's business model", recounted by the interested party in front of the audience of great occasions, the theme of today's new appointment in London of 'Italian threads: conversation on fashion': a series of meetings that the Italian Embassy in the United Kingdom has decided to dedicate to one of the most representative sectors of the Italian industry - fashion - organised together with the online newspaper ThePlatform. Rosso, one of the undisputed protagonists of made-in-Italy fashion at a global level, was invited to talk about it with Maria Silvia Sacchi, the soul and director of ThePlatform, both guests of Ambassador Inigo Lambertini at the diplomatic headquarters in Grosvenor Square, in the heart of Mayfair. Against the backdrop of an environment dominated in his sector by French conglomerates, the Venetian entrepreneur was asked about how he was able to rise to the challenge. The conversation also focused on the impact of artificial intelligence on the creative industry, as well as on the need to preserve the production chain as a specific characteristic of Italy. Starting out with Diesel jeans, a brand brought to success even in the homeland of denim, the USA, Renzo Rosso's entrepreneurial and creative adventure then led to the birth of Otb, a holding company now headed, together with Diesel, by luxury brands such as Jil Sander, Maison Margiela, Marni and Viktor&Rolf, recalled the moderator. Not without emphasising - as a seal on an Italian success story - how Otb has come to control the companies Staff International and Brave Kid and hold a stake in the American brand Amiri. The meeting with Rosso is the second appointment in a series that will run until November to illustrate Italian fashion in London through 'the words of the protagonists of the entire production chain'. Opening the series in April was Luca Sburlati, CEO of Pattern Group, a company specialising in the design, engineering, development and production of clothing lines. This will be followed by Alfonso Dolce, CEO of the Dolce & Gabbana group; Carlo Capasa, President of the Fashion Chamber; and Sergio Tamburini, CEO of Ratti and President of Sistema Moda Italia.
