The Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Marko Primorac, today received the Italian Ambassador Paolo Trichilo, expressing his satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation between the two countries. During the conversation, the minister highlighted the current positive macroeconomic indicators and the measures taken to pursue a responsible fiscal policy. OECD membership was mentioned as one of the key strategic goals for Zagreb, along with the implementation of the NRP measures.
Ambassador Trichilo congratulated Croatia on the government's correct and efficient management of the NRP, as certified by the European Commission, and confirmed Italy's strong support for Zagreb's accession to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development. Particular emphasis was placed on Italian investments in the banking sector, and both sides agreed that Italian banks play a very important role. Finally, Ambassador Trichilo emphasised the willingness to further strengthen relations, including through an ongoing dialogue in the area of projects of common interest in the Eurozone and the EU.
