The Italian Ambassador to North Macedonia Andrea Silvestri was received today by Health Minister Arben Taravari, to whom he first wished success in his new post. During the cordial meeting," the Embassy announced in a note, "Taravari illustrated the priorities for action in the health sector, with particular regard to the revitalisation of the public system. For his part, Silvestri recalled the considerable support provided by Italy in this sector as well, which has contributed to the strengthening of hospital facilities in North Macedonia, with a dedicated aid credit and also through direct investments in healthcare and in the production and supply of medical gases.
Italy, the country that supplied the largest number of vaccines to North Macedonia during the Covid epidemic, is also the protagonist - through its own company - of an innovative public-private partnership for the integrated management of innovative solutions for surgical procedures and nosocomial infections. In thanking for the support received so far, Minister Taravari confirmed his willingness to further strengthen cooperation with Italy, a country whose constant support for the country's Euro-Western aspirations he acknowledged.
